Fine wines produced by exceptional estates, many of them family-owned.
Via Terra Rouge
Edetària is the winery of reference in Terra Alta, producing authentic wines with indigenous varieties of old vines in a unique terroir with a strong personality. Terra Alta region is the biggest producer of Garnacha in the world.
This region was inhabited by an Iberian tribe called Edetanas. During the Roman Empire, Via Edetana Road was built from the Mediterranean coast, travelling inland Spain and crossing where the Lliberia family vineyards are located. Hence the name of Edetària.
The Edetana people had the oldest winemaking site in Spain, just a few kilometres from the winery.
Today, Edetària’s wines are considered by wine critics as among the best mediterranean wines of Catalonia and Spain. Minerality, complexity, balance and elegance are the essence of these wines, the fruit of painstaking work, adapting each vine to the ground where it grows.
The vineyards are located at and altitude of 450 – 550 metres and the estate is owned by Joan Angel Lliberia and his family.

From red Grenache from vineyards located in la Plana de Gandesa, in well drained soil terraces with low yields. Once in the cellar, we combine two different wine making processes. A first one, with a cold maceration of grapes, to obtain all of Grenache fruitiness; and a second more traditional process, using riper grapes to achieve a more complex structure to the whole.
Aged in 300 litre French oak barrels for 6 months.
Intense red, with violet hues.
Soft tannins, with outstanding red fruit and a spicy finish.
