Estate::

Estate located in San Casciano dei Bagni, near Siena, with 8 hectares of vineyards, replanted in 1995 with meticulous attention to selection of grape varieties, clones and rootstocks.  Between 1996 – 2000 the winery was renovated.  Consultant winemaker is Emiliano Falsini. 

Grape varieties::

Sangiovese 95%, Colorino/Canaiolo 5%

Vinification::

Stainless steel containers 40-60 hectolitres at a carefully controlled temperature. Finished in bottles for 3-6 months.

ageing::

10-12 months in 20 hectolitre Slavonian and Allier oak barrels, tonneaux of 5 hectolitres, and barriques on the third refill.

appearance::

Bright ruby/garnet

nose::

Clean with fairly intense notes of cherry, red licorice, candy, and spice

taste::

Dry with fresh red and black berry fruit, medium bodied, nice and savoury, with berry and toffee replays on the finish, drinking very well now. Classic Chianti and great value.
