The Casa Maguila winery has been operating since 2009 in Zamora. “Maguila” was the nickname bestowed on the ancestral family of the founder, Jesús Peña, in the little town of Cáceres.
The vineyards are located in various areas of Toro D.O., where 100 year old vines yield the grapes used to make Cachito Mío, Quizás and Angelitos Negros. The names of the wines are a nod to famous boleros and the musical association of the emotions evoked. Sustainable farming is practised.
100% Tinta de Toro, the region’s grape, a dark, tough-skinned variety from the Tempranillo family.
