Piedmont :: Italy
Small, critically acclaimed family-owned & run winery with 6.5 hectares of prime vineyards in Barbaresco. Focused on top quality, with attention to detail in vineyard and cellar. Vineyards at 250 - 290 altitude, with south and west exposure, close to village of Barbaresco. Soil: mainly clay, with a limestone base and a marked alkaline reaction.
It is a wine of class, elegance, with important structure and dense tannins. Garnet red in color, it has an intense aroma, that is refined with hints of violet and cherry jam.
100% Nebbiolo grapes.
18 months in used 225-liter French oak barrels. It continues its aging in concrete vats and it is bottled not less than six months after this.
Intense, elegant aromas of violet and cherry jam with balsamic and minty notes.
On the palate, notes of truffle and vanilla accent a core of juicy, ripe black cherry flavours.
A wine of class, elegance, with important structure & dense tannins.
It has a great potential for aging (15-20 years). We recommend that this wine is stored at 18-19°C before serving in large crystal glasses. Suggested pairings are with red and white meat. It is also great to accompany the first, main course of the Piedmontese cuisine: tajarin or ravioli in meat ragout or gravy sauce.
