The Astobiza estate is in the locality of Alavesa de Okondo (Basque country, North of Spain) comprising 10 hectares of vineyards planted with indigenous grapes varieties Ondarrabi zuri and Gros Manseng. The vineyards are located 300 metres above sea level and between mountains which protect them from the humid fog and the icy winter.
Astobiza specializes in Txakoli wines. They have made it their mission to reflect in these wines the environment and the climate, together with the character of these native grapes. They produce a dry, fruity txakoli, with colour and aroma in a fresh and playful packaging.
All the grapes are hand harvested with a low yield of 4,000 to 6,000 kg per hectare.
